MC at Shibleys

Does anyone have any news re: the "big" motorcycle meeting that was supposed to occur at Shibleys this past Sat ? I showed up, camera in hand, but all I saw were a lot of Alton police (w/dogs) and an empty parking lot. Well that and a hovering helocopter and the Marine Patrol's full complement of boats :D I think some did show up later that day but nowhere near the expected 300-600 hundred.

The Outlaws and the Hells Angles are not the best of friends. I would think the police were there to make sure they did not bump into each other by mistake. The Hells Angles were in the Laconia area at the same time.

The Alton Police were well prepared on Saturday with several observation posts set up around town, including at the Alton traffic circle, near Shibleys and in West Alton. They set up their posts in the morning and maintained radio communications and coordination until the Outlaws departed in the afternoon. I monitored their communications via scanner, and it was very clear that they were well aware of possible trouble between the Outlaws and Hell's Angels. Fortunately, there was no trouble and after lunch the Outlaws departed peacefully, not venturing to the Weirs.
