I have a VHF antenna that came with my boat, installed by previous owner.
I want to remove it as I will not be using. Antenna was part of a Standard Horizon CMP25B Remote Second Station Microphone setup.
The antenna is a Shakespeare 4ft model mounted on side of the center console on a bracket. My issue is the coax the runs from antenna goes through a small hole on side, into the interior of center console and then plugs into some type of black junction box, with a PL-259-G Standard Marine Radio - Antenna Connector attached to the end of the coax.
To remove the antenna from the exterior of console, I'm going to have to snake the coax through the small hole n the interior console sidewall. To do that I need to remove PL-259-G connector on the end of coax.
I don't see how that PL-259 connector plug can be removed from the coax without cutting? Can those connector plugs be reinstalled to the coax later should I need? Looks like a standard coax connector plug.
Thoughts?
