I've never been to bike week, nor do I have a desire to, but I may be looking to try to camp near the lake on one or both weekends during bike week.
That being said...is this a bad idea? I'm not talking for safety, I'll be golfing or boating a vast majority of the time, but will I even be able to get a campsite in the area? Or does everything really fill up?
Thanks

For the most part you can expect the campgrounds to be full, or have minimum stays and charge top $$. If you aren't into Bike Week, I would change your plans...

My guess is that you'll be able to find something on the other end of the lake from the Weirs. Pretty sure Long Island Campground in Moultonborough isn't usually full at that time.
The lake is a big place. :)
Not to sure how much sleep you will get in a tent................

We used to have a camper in the Pine Acres Campground, its a different name now I think. Its on Moultonborough Neck Road. The bikers would overrun the place for the weekend. Not in a bad way, just lots of noisy party people. Could not get any sleep. The only weekend we would stay away.

That's so interesting. Our property abuts the Long Island campground and we've never heard anything. Maybe someone who's stayed there will weigh in.

Its been a while....we were at that place back in the early 90's. Things might have changed out that way.

Long Island Campground, is not the same as Pine Acres Campground....
Pine Acres Campground is back up the neck road and is now Bears Pine Wood Campground.
It has turned into a much more seasonal tenant campground and I am sure is now less popular for the bike weekend crowd... When it was Pine Acres, there weren't as many seasonal tenants.... now there are leaving fewer available weekly campsites.
