Perhaps no one really cares too much...

The first paragraph: "Like the first, the second of four sessions to which the City Council has invited property owners to discuss changes to the zoning at The Weirs passed again this week without anyone offering their views either in person or writing."

About one year ago, that one undeveloped 6-acre lot just below the Cumberland Farm came pretty close to becoming a storage rental business with something like 17-different storage buildings. Since then, the zoning rules have been amended to exclude a storage rental business.
Right now, as an undeveloped lot, it still probably pays some big property taxes which is something to think about as you drive up that Route 3 hill and look at the grassy, empty lot. It is kinda nice to have all that open space that still gets taxed big time. It is not a conservation easement or in current use as current use needs to be at least ten acres. Probably, the property owner thinks of it as a major expensive blunder!

This Article is not only incorrect in some aspects one being this was the 3rd meeting and they had two last year one prior to folks knowing about it, and the second which was in May I believe last year at which time it was tabled due to lack of notice and awareness and folks being up in arms about it. It was supposed to be tabled until this year when more research and questions answered from the second meeting were answered
This makes me fuming mad!!! - The meeting notices and what not that did not happen and also that this article in such a small town could be so near sighted and lacking.
Another prime example of Laconia trying to take advantage of the off season and hit up the property owners that have no voice in the town government. - sorry off the box now
