I was reading this story on the airplane yesterday and was surprised to see that there is a lake in Georgia with almost the same name as our piece of heaven. Anyone ever hear of this place or been there?

After a great deal of research, countless hours pouring over Southern Indian tribe translations, and several Mai Tai's (maybe only two, but that's enough), it has been determined that the name "Winnipesaukah" means "Smile of the Great Spirit Y'all"!!!!!!!

Kinda neat, googled the name and came up with a website for the amusement park. Check out the URL name...

Thanks S.P. ..neat info.

I had never heard of the other Lake Winnie (http://www.negative-g.com/LakeWinnie/2004/Lake-Winnie-2004-3.htm) , thanks for enlightening us!

Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park (http://history.amusement-parks.com/lakewinniecarousel.htm) is laid out like a large U with the lake in the middle with the carousel is located on a small island. It seems like a nice old-fashioned park (http://history.amusement-parks.com/lw1.htm).
(I’m glad there isn’t a full amusement park on our lake!)

I'm not sure we don't have one around the Weirs every summer weekend RG
