My current electricity provider is 'North American Power'.
(Partnership with PSN-AKA Eversource)
My rate per KWH is 8.99 until Jan 15., then it defaults to the open current market rate (whatever that is?) Funny b/c the customer service person I spoke with at N.A.P, couldn't give me what the current rate was, go figure !
So, will be shopping around for the beat rate , maybe lock-in 12 months ?
Can folks share with me their Electric provider, and their rates?
Will check the Eversource website for alternative providers.
Thanks,
Bigdog

My rates have doubled, almost tripled since Eversource took over for me. Not happy.

I just renewed with NAP. 8.89 fixed for 12 months. Their rates are right on their webpage.
Eversource is going to over 10.xx this month.
I guess the electric rates are: "necessarily skyrocketing" after all, just took the government more time than they hoped.

Interesting. Rates in Central Maine Power's territory are going down. The standard offer rate will be 6.44 cents/kWh from 3/1/2016 to 12/31/16, and FairPoint Energy is offering a 12 month fixed rate of 5.9 cents/kWh.

I am very partial to think that Eversource has been a scam since they took over after seeing my checkbook from last year to this year, the worst part is my girlfriend actually works for them:D.
I think three years ago I was paying 5-8 cents/kWh or something and now I think almost if not 11-12 cents/kWh. Also my usage went up even though I haven't added anything to the property. If anything I expected it would have been less now that I don't run the air conditioners all summer and especially now that I travel a lot for work and I am never home, but somehow I am using more power than ever and paying more than ever.
I have to sit down and look deeper into my bills. Sadly I have accepted the fact I will be screwed for the rest of my life by the utility companies and taxes.
