We just had our road toll refund rejected. Please make sure you are using form RT123G from April of this year and not form RT122G from January of this year.

Even though the gasoline forms contain all the same information, tables and calculations, the State Auditor assured me this morning they are two entirely different forms and only the former is acceptable because it says "Boats" on it.

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the heads up, and sorry to hear they rejected your application, but I don't see a RT123G on their website:
https://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/administration/roadtoll/forms.html

There is a RT123 there (no 'G' on the end), that mentions boats, perhaps you meant this one:
https://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/administration/roadtoll/documents/rt123.pdf

Which reminds me, maybe I'll save my gas receipts from my Snowmobile also this year and add it to my boating receipts since my boat puts me over the minimum.

I didn't think you could send it in before the first of the year (2016)?

The form says this:
(1) Annually but no later than April 15 following the end of the calendar year.

So my guess is any time in the current year, or up to April 15th of the following year.

KJ probably has enough time to resubmit on the other form.

Bizer also has the RT123 on his site:

If you check the box for donating all or part of your refund to the Navigation Safety Fund (Marine Patrol) or Lake protection (milfoil control) it is a donation to the state and is a tax deductible item.

I think the form site RICH posted is correct. I think the one on Bizers site is the 2014 form - it still has 2 different rebate columns (.18 and .22 cents) to account for the change last year in July

Mine was rejected because it was submitted before 12/31.

Mine was rejected because it was submitted before 12/31.

That happened to me a couple of years ago. You would think that they would just store it somewhere instead of sending it back with a letter telling you that you sent it in too early. The postage and time required to return it to you seems like an unnecessary government expense.

A little common sense in Concord....................Oh, nevermind!

The form does say "Annually, but no later than 4/15 of the following year", I think someone could call them and let them know that they are not following their own 'rules', but you can't fight city hall, or you can, but it will be frustrating.

I mentioned that I downloaded the form from their own website, but they assured me it was the wrong one. :) The link above looks like the correct form, but it is also slightly different than the "G" version they returned to me in the mail.

When I noted the time, expense, postage, and re-work involved in filling out cover letters and sending all the same stuff back and forth, the auditor noted "It's State Law."

Good luck!

Like most rebates, they try to make it NOT easy, in hoping that you will just think it's not worth the amount of work to get your own money back.

I just called the state. The correct form is RT123

Don't forget... not only is April 15th the last day you can file your taxes, it's also the last date you can get your roll toll refund in if you want a refund on the roll toll gas tax.

Now is a good time to do it, if you haven't already. ;)

I just received my Road Toll refund for boat gas. I sent my paper work to the state on January 21st. It took about 5 weeks.

I just remembered I actually dropped my paperwork off in Concord. I did not mail it.

Same here, just received yesterday. Not a large check but hopefully after this summer that will change :)
