Heavy winds?

Just came up for the night and was welcomed by the sight of my boat lift and canopy ripped to shreds. Lifted right out of water and thrown onto dock. Metal snapped and bent. Did I miss some severe weather in the last 2 weeks? Put the boat away last time I was up but maybe I should leave it on until lift comes out of water for added weight. I can't even imagine this happening without hurricane like winds.

Yes, winds were howling on Wednesday and Thursday, with some very heavy squalls on Thursday.

We had some things thrown all over our lot.

Yeah, I arrived to find a few gullies washed out in the walkway. Apparently the pile of wood that I came up to move had push run off towards another path of water and the two of them moved a lot of gravel. :rolleye1:

Canvas would have been shredded anyway unless it went to the ground and had no space for the wind to get under it.
