Anybody have any experience with the new TDS fiber to the home offering called Fiberville? It is currently being rolled out in Alton. I traded emails with the salesperson, and i would save about $58 per month over Metrocast, have 100 mbps internet speed (with up to 1 giga speed at higher cost) vs 20 mbps for Metrocast, and it comes with a 400 hour DVR that can tape 4 programs at once.

JMO, proceed with caution....
From what I read from their childish looking website... (I say that because it looks like those games on facebook) they are only asking for you to sign up for FUTURE internet "when it becomes available". Perhaps testing the market to see if it will be viable for them to build in your area. It does not appear that they have to capacity to provide you with the actual service.
Other things that struck me as odd is the name "fiberville" do not think that this is fiber optics. It is doubtful that fiber optics is available in your area.
The site was last updated on 8/12/15, The registered owner of this web site Scott DeGarmo passed away on 8/15/15.
I may very well be wrong, but things just seem amiss with this web site.
I hope these links are allowed. Please let me know if they are not. I am omitting the web site of the company in question. That should be easy enough to find.

Thanks for the heads up, Outdoorsman. Fiberville.com is not their
website. It's http://tdstelecom.com. TDS is a fairly large regional telecom that bought the Union Telephone Company about 6 six years ago. Union served Alton and was in the process of installing fiber even back then. I think its legit although I suspect you are right that it's still far from covering most of the town. The website shows the Rum Point area is to be complete in 2015.
That being said, I still can't find any reviews of the service. But can it be worse and more expensive than Metrocast?

For several months, I have tried to put in my address in Alton Bay, and it tells me they can not locate my address. Of course, I put in Alton Bay, and it changes it to Alton.:rolleye1:
So I put in 82 Main St Alton NH, which is a viable street address less than a quarter mile from their main frame in Alton. Still can't give me the info, and in both cases, want me to call.
I really don't want to talk... I just want to look and compare.
Oh well... another day maybe.:rolleye2:

Monthly Discount for 2 years ($20.00)

For several months, I have tried to put in my address in Alton Bay, and it tells me they can not locate my address......
Verizon had a nice portal, used to check it all the time for myself and others, Fairpoint has no such tool, and you have to listen to their pitch and put up with call backs :(
The quote I got (no contract commitment) is...
Total before taxes and fees $134.94 ...
Great deal, relative to Time Warner :)

Consider yourself lucky if you can sign up for the TDS fiber. With enough interest, TDS will continue to invest in growing its fiber footprint. Better high-speed capacity will help your town economically. Check with New London to see how they like their TDS fiber.
