www.unionleader.com/article/20150902/NEWS0621/150909891 (hope this link works) has a clickable link in blue for House Bill 169 which raised the ante for poker at the eleven charitable gambling venues in New Hampshire.

Here in the lakes region, the Fun Spot bingo hall may have this type of poker .... I have no clue? ..... does anybody know? ..... all I know from my vague LaDaSun memory is their 35% charitable stake goes to the Miss Winnipesaukee annual beauty pageant, and the Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Museum, that is located just up-the-hill from Fun Spot.

Does the Fun Spot bingo hall also have poker now that the poker ante can be raised as legalized by HB-169 as of July 1, 2015, or is it still strictly b-i-n-g-o?

Do I know what I'm talking about? ...... not really! ..... but hopefully someone will show their hand, stop with the poker face, lay their cards on the table, and let us know what's up ..... if anything? .... with poker at Fun Spot?

Questions of the day:

Does a 5-card flush beat three of a kind?

Does a 5-card flush beat a full house?

Answers: ?wonk t'nod I (spelled in reverse)

The Lakes Region Casino in Belmont seems to have it, at least as I interpret the info on their website.

No, Funspot does NOT have any card games there at all at this time. This I know to be true because I run the Sat's Night Bingo for LWHS. Hope this helps.

Well ...... thanks for your reply.......and, maybe Fun Spot could consider having a poker table just to see how it is received. After all, it seems like playing poker is a lot more intellectually challenging than playing b-i-n-g-o.

Just a thought here ..... maybe poker could be scheduled at a different time than b-i-n-g-o.... or in a different area or something? Is there any local demand for a charitable poker casino in the lakes region? Could be something to do on a Wednesday night in november?

They used to have it on Thursday nights a few years back (5-10?) at the height of the poker fad at Funspot. It moved to Lochmere Country Club for a while after that. I know it was there a couple years ago. Dont think its a regular thing anymore but could be wrong. I'll be driving by this afternoon....
