Anyone know what's up with Metrocast in Meredith?
No cable in 2 days. Internet and phone is good...just no cable.

I got a notification that Comcast is suffering a nationwide internet outage/problem. How interesting.... ! A firmware upgrade problem?, hackers, it will be interesting to see how it works out. Meanwhile a bad storm is closing in on the Lakes Region, hold on......

Our internet has been out on Bear since Sunday, this same issue has happened to us the past three years. The problem we have with Metrocast is they will only come out on Thursday and that typically is a day when we are not there.
We know the problem is with a relay on one of the poles and it fills with water, I don't know why they can't fix it right, the same line guy has come out for three years and we get the same pitch.
If we don't get the same customer service as everyone else why do we pay the same fees...you can only complain so much, it falls on deaf ears with the techs you get on the phone.
Anyways, that is my frustration.

I am on the north end of Bear and our Internet and cable TV comes and goes all the time. At the moment both are mostly working. The TV glitches every couple of minutes and the internet goes out for a minute or two several times an hour.
Every time I call Metrocast they say I must have trouble with the wiring in my home. I tell them all my neighbors have the same problem, and they have no comment. I guess they have no scripted answer when you tell them that.

Metrocast must be using the Comcast play book. Every time i have called Comcast at home their first answer is that there must be a problem in my house. The last time i had techs come to the house they told me in the first minute that the problem was network wide. They must think we're all stupid.
I was considering switching to Metrocast at the camp and this feedback makes me wonder if thats such a good idea. The only problem is that we have few options.

I talked to the Metrocast tech was on the island yesterday. In April Metrocast changed the signal somewhat and that means there is a filter outside homes that need to be changed.
If you have cable TV and internet then you don't have this filter. If you have only internet you do have this filter, and it should be changed.
It is typical of Metrocast that instead of biting the bullet and changing the filters for all customers, they wait until you call and complain before you get the needed upgrade.
