Boater harrassing the loons

Today, 8.915, in Greene's Basin was a boater towing a bright orange floater with kids on it. He saw the male loon, they pointed to the loon, they ran around and around the loon ... really,bothering the loon. I have a photo of his NH bow numbers.... what do I do? Post them here, send to NHF&G. Need some input folks. Thanks

I live in Green's basin. The no wake ends after you go through the narrows. The loon chicks in the basin were the first born on the lake this year. We cherish our loons and I am very upset about what you saw. Please report it. We are always trying to look out for them. You could start by speaking with John Cooley at the Loon Preservation Committee. Their telephone number is 603-476-5666. I would also contact the marine patrol and fish and game. I am shocked when we have chicks that survive until they leave in late fall. Green's Basin is very quiet, but in the summer the boats go around and around tubing, wake boarding, etc. It never stops. The loons and chicks swim all over the basin so extreme caution is necessary. I am also amazed that there are not any boats that collide as they go around and around. I have been in the basin for over 60 years and the boat traffic has become ridiculous. So many boaters come in and throw in their tubes. The screaming and chaos begins. I am all for enjoying the lake, but the area in the basin is not that big so tubing can be very dangerous. I will look for the boater tomorrow and see if he/she is there. I have to say that many of the boaters could care less about the loons even though we have loon caution signs in the area. Saturday we boated to Alton and yesterday to Wolfeboro.There are so many open spaces to tube on the lake, but so many want to come into Green's Basin. If you travel to the basin you will feel like you are in a separate lake or pond.
