Looking for a won't break the bank wedding venue in the lakes region with pretty views. Small wedding planned for Aug 2016. 60 to 70 guests. Any suggestions?:)

The Mariah Room at The Margate. A beautiful room with a huge fireplace and floor to ceiling glass overlooking Paugus Bay; the entire length of the room. Check it out.

If I was home I would post up some pics of the room.

Nice suggestion. Wedding pictures across the street at Cate Park would be a nice compliment.

I took it as a constructive comment but I am uncertain what the requirements are for using the facility. From those I have spoken with it will be an amazing building when complete later this year. Close to $5,000,000 is being spent on renovations.

If you are up for a bit of an adventure I hear that Sandy Island Camp hosts weddings.

On the Mount.
Wonderful to have the captain marry you up on the bow as you cruise the lake.
We had about 50 people for my daughters wedding. It was a beautiful day.

Was it expensive? Did you like the food?

Try Timber Hill Farm in Gilford. Has a nice view of the lake and mountains. The food is catered by The Common Man Inn. http://www.timberhillfarm.com/

We have hosted some weddings at Sandy Island Family camp, however the availability is limited, typically one or two weekends in the spring and fall. We have 9 weeks of family camp in the summer (through Labor Day Weekend), and people return year after year to the same week. We also have several groups that book spring and fall weekends -again, booking the next year before they leave. At least one of the groups has been coming for around 30 years! Those groups fill us on Memorial Day weekend, as well as the first two weekends after Labor Day. So that only leaves a few weekends - depending on how the calendar falls.

You may also consider our NorthWoods/Pleasant Valley site in Tuftonboro. There is a beautiful lake side grassy area with plenty of room for whatever you might like to set up.

If you are interested, PM me and I can give you contact information. Or look at our website bostonycamps.org

The wedding on the Mount was not terribly expensive, but the food was iffy for a wedding reception.
It was their regularly scheduled luncheon, we did bring our own cake and wine & champagne for the toast.
They were more than helpful, anything they could do.....
It was mostly the ambiance of the lake, etc.

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful suggestions. Was just told that a cousin of the groom- to- be owns property along the ocean in Hampton. Looks like it may be an oceanside wedding instead of the lake.
