I have my boat trailer registered in Mass. but changing over to a N.H. Reg.

Do NH boat trailers have to be inspected?
If so, is there a inspection sticker issued, like on a car ?

Any idea of the cost to register, trailer is rated for 3,000 lbs.

Thanks,

If your trailer is registered for 3.000# GVWR (carrying capacity plus the weight of the trailer), you should not need to have it inspected. Trailers that are 3,001 or more should have brakes and a title, if it is 2000 or newer. I don't believe the inspection is really a big issue- I have heard of it, but have never heard of it being strictly enforced. As far as registration goes, it will have to do with the year of the trailer as well. My little trailer for my Sea Doo is $12 a year. I will guess somewhere in the $50 range?

You might want to check out registering in Maine. It's only $125 for 5 years and then you only have to deal with the registration hassle every 5 years. It's completely legal, I double checked with the registry and my insurance company. I used this company - http://www.mainetags.com/

Maine is a huge bargain, many over the road trailers are registered there with the tractors registered in the home state.

I switched all my over with no problem. Just go to town hall. One of my newer trailers I didn't have the certificate of origin so I had to have a policeman come to the house to verify the VIN number was correct.
