I hate to say it but comparing the two pictures this early is a tough sell for me. You really need to measure the ice thickness for a good comparison.

Even though the ice looks darker it doesn't mean it's thinner. A couple things to consider is the last time it snowed and how dense the ice is. Less air will make the ice look darker and stronger.

Just IMO.

Barry, thank you for the additional wide view. It adds a very neat perspective, still looks like a late ice out but more for us hopefuls to look at.
