Laconia (NH) Main Street



Here's the map of the traffic changes that start next week - the biggest changes are on Main Street south of Pleasant and Beacon Street West, which becomes two-way as the red arrows indicate. Main Street becomes southbound from the corner of Pleasant and Hanover Streets. Pleasant Street and Main Street northbound from Hanover stay going the same direction. Be safe, and give yourself a little extra time to get used to the differences...and remember that all the downtown businesses are open as usual!

Why would they change a system that was working fine before? This traffic pattern makes no sense.

The change is due to the new bridge being constructed over the Winnipesaukee River. Thanks for posting that map. It is very helpful.

All a waste of time and money.....urban renewal project ruined Main St forever.
Cities like Newport that were smart enough to preserve their center of town buildings are doing well.
