Does the Weirs sign get turned off when the Mount leaves Weirs for the season?

Oh, how I will miss saying "There's The Mount"! I still plan on kayaking in the snow on Saturday.

It looked like it was totally empty as it motored past yesterday, except for the person driving the boat. While it used to go chug-chug-chug with the old 1940's engines, now it whirs or buzzes very quietly with the new 2011 cash-for-clunkers, government trade-in $700,000 pair of Caterpillar diesels.

Looking at the number of people on-board as it hums past from 200-300-yards away, it seems like business has been picking up last year, 2013, and this year, 2014, as compared to 2009-2012. Believe a standard ticket is 20-dollars for a cruise from Weirs-around Bear Island-Wolfeboro-Weirs, about 2 1/2 hours, and they do the best business with the September-October leaf-peeper buses.

Ya knows, the more I tink about it.....I miss that old chug-chug-chug.....couldn't Caterpillar install a chug-chug-chug sound to accompany their new efficient engines.

Just like all the flasher buoys all around the lake are highly efficient with their split-second flourescent style white flasher blinks.....the old flasher lights were much more like a flickering yellow candle with a light that lasted a lot longer ...... and these new lights are supposed to be an improvement?

On the Mount, the line of lighbulbs that hung way up high from bow to stern with a wire line of sockets and lighbulbs has been replaced with a self-contained wire with l.e.d. lights.....but it just aint the same old warm look as it used to be.

Anyone know: How much for the Mount's least expensive beer in the lounge.....probably PBR?
