When I was up this summer I noticed the ( I think it is the old Wentworth homestead) group of buildings on rt. 109 between Moultonboro and Sandwich was being worked on. That is a beautiful property. The view from the "back yard" would knock anyone's socks off. When I drive by I always wish I could just drive in and look out at the view. Does anyone know who bought the property and what they're doing with it? Very interesting architecture.

We love that place. Always thought it might be haunted. We got out and walked in the yard a few years ago to see the view. What an awesome panoramic scene. I would love to see the inside and walk the property.
about 5 years ago, we stopped to walk around (as in trespass) and look at these beautiful old houses.
A caretaker appeared out of the back yard and, instead of telling us to get the heck out, he gave us a 2 hour tour and history lesson. He was quite proud of
the buildings, the history and area.
Property (I think) he said, was last owned by Denley Emerson, a realtor in Sandwich.
Originally belonged to the guy who invented the automatic feeding printing press, who happened to grow up in Sandwich, walked to Boston, went to Harvard and returned very rich.
The caretaker lives directly across the street.
He (this was 5 years ago) said the property would become a conference center and down the hill a bit (in the back yard) fine condos would be built.
None of this has remotely come to pass . . . but I'm guessing he still lives across the street and would share his knowledge

The old Adams residence is on the Moultonboro side of the old Wentworth Mansion.
Some interesting history here (http://http://www.livingplaces.com/NH/Carroll_County/Sandwich_Town/Lower_Corner_Historic_District.html)
