Anyone know why the MP is swapping out all the orange lighted companion bouys for white ones? All I can think of is those are going to get hit in the wintertime.

Seems like an awful lot of money is being spent to replace these for little benefit.

I would much rather they change the black and black tipped spars for fluorescent green versions of both!

Most of the lighted bouys are removed, before the lake freezes... Do I don't think this is the problem you believe it to be.....

We have said that so often! The black is sometimes hard to see until you get close.

I agree 100% with the color issue. I'm sure it would not be cheap to change/paint/tape each one but the colors are honestly tough until you're close.

The MP historically have taken the strobes off the top of the bouys, but they leave them in over the wintertime. I assume that would be the case with these new ones.

I checked out #4 up close and it appears to be the same buoy, but they replaced the small band with the number on it, with a white sleeve that covers the entire buoy with a much larger number on it, assuming for better visibility.

Traditionally they have removed the flasher and the sleeve for the winter, leaving the buoy in place, and assuming that will be the same this year.
