I feel like this might be a knucklehead question but at about 5:30 p.m. tonight the antenna on the top of Belknap Mountain was blinking white. I have had a good, unobstructed view of of this antenna for about 18 months. It has always blinked red...I have never seen it white before. Was it weather related? Something to do with the airport maybe. Anyone in the know?

I thought I was crazy, but I saw it a couple days ago, and thought to myself that I don't ever remember seeing a blinking white tower there. So, apparently, I still may be crazy, but at least I am thinking that the light is new.
Maybe the red lens broke or fell off and now there is a bare bulb there?

I think Rich has it right. This should be a red light, marking mountainous terrain.

The mystery continues, it turned back to red around 6:30 last night.

Mystery solved if you read 2-2-3.4 on the FAA site. I think they have recently started using the white.
