Peter Parker http://www.whitemountaintreeservice.com/ with his two capable helpers was at our Welch Island camp today to deal with two hung-up trees from last week's storm. He has amazing skills and is a wonder to watch. He does it the old fashion way with full tree climbing gear and a running chain saw hanging from a short rope. This is the only way a tall tree can be taken down safely on the island and near a structure or power lines.
Today he climbed a tall oak that a hemlock was hung-up on, cut sections off the hemlock until he could kick the end to the other side of the oak and let it fall to ground, 1st photo.
Last year he dropped an ant infested tree that was a danger to the cottage, one 8' section at a time, one on top of the other. 2nd photo.
He is very reasonably priced for what he does. For island work Steve at ISS brings Peter out and handles the billing.
