Behind Laconia City Hall

The beauty of the Lakes Region is all around us. I feel so fortunate to live here. I took this one yesterday with my iPad while sitting on a park bench. It is so serene there and the sound of the water going over the dam is so soothing. It is the view of the river, mill building and dam, taken from the rear of Laconia City Hall.

The mill museum there is worth a visit. The mill produced a large variety of products, so the inventiveness of the "old" machinery from yesteryear is astounding. We toured it two seasons ago, after stumbling onto it. I recall they had plans to move or modify the museum, but haven't heard any news.
