...So we expect to be planting all of the summer flowers this weekend around the house. I could really use a responsible person to water them while we are not there....I'm guessing several times per week, depending obviously on amount of rainfall and the heat. It probably takes only 20 mins to do the watering.
If you know of any responsible HS kid, college kid, retired person, or anyone who likes plants and might want to pick up a little spending money for not much work, please PM me. I am in Meredith, as the name implies....
Thanks.

If you get ambitious, you might consider a DIY drip irrigation system for your plants. I did this a few years ago and it transformed our plants, especially the potted plants. Since we are just at the lake weekends, our potted plants really needed the water.
I got the parts online at DripWorks (http://www.dripworks.com).
It takes some time to become familiar with the parts and design the system. I buried the main line a few inches underground. I used mini sprinklers for some beds, but the rest are pots, including a few hanging pots.
They have a battery-powered programmable controller that turns the water on and off on the schedule you set up.
I blow out the lines in the fall and I've never had a problem.
It takes some time and work initially, but then everything looks great!

I use a combination of drip irrigation and sprinklers back at home and it works great! It enables you to go up to the lake and not worry about watering all the (expensive) plants back home!

Thank you, Chocophile. Didn't know there was such a thing. I will definitely look into it. I had someone water the plants for me last summer, but that only lasted a month or so before the person became "bored" and quit, (I guess doing nothing is more exciting than watering plants:laugh:), and I've gotten estimates on a real sprinkler system, but that is not a trivial expense.
Thanks!
