Any suggestions on the best places to watch the Smith River Race on May 17th?

The most exciting, I think is the rapids in back of Wright Museum. I have a brain cramp as to the name of the street right now, but it is just beyond the junction of 28 and 109A on your right coming from town. It's always fun to see the end at the bridge too but not much action there.

In the past I've parked at the Wright Museum. At the end of the parking lot out back there is a cart road into the woods with the river on the left that you can walk down to. Not exactly a secret as there are lots of other people around too! It's a lot of fun....everyone has a blast!

Here's one of the entrants in 2005

Yes, you could park at the Wright Museum if they don't mind. It is a lot of fun. Nice pic of Dr. Selli with the duck on the back! I don't think he is doing it any more-at least he hasn't recently.
