I am looking for advice on how to move a 15 ft sailing dinghy (hull wt ~200 lbs) from Sunapee to Winnipesaukee. Boat is on a dolly, but I do not have a trailer. I have a vehicle that can tow it, but no trailer. Any suggestions as to where I might borrow / rent a suitable trailer? Other suggestions? Thanks

I'm sure someone will come up with a solution for you and get your sailing vessel to where you want it.:)

Post an ad on craigslist.....you will probably be pleasantly surprised by the responses you get.

As previously suggested uhaul has a selection of trailers.
Although I am not positive if they have on the will fit your needs.
Craigslist as previously suggest is another idea, you might find someone to help you out.
My suggestion would be to contact a marina to two to see if they can help you out... Or even better their are a few Mobile marine mechanic out fits that might be able to help you as well...

I used to haul a 16ft canoe on an 8ft kit-trailer I got from Harbor freight. Your dolly would probably center nicely on the flat-bed section. Use lots of tie-downs and chock the dolly's wheels or remove them.
These cost about $250 plus wood for deck and sides (if desired. No welding required just a couple wrenches or sockets. Add a 'flag bar' with streamers across the transom and you are good to go. Best not to use this configuration at night unless you add extra lights and/or reflectors.
Good luck!

Could always try to round up a 4 place snowmobile trailer. Mine is 27 feet long, certainly big enough for the task and it will hold the weight without a problem.

Not mine, or anyone I know.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. In the end, I posted to u Ship and had Hillsgrove Hauling pick up and deliver my boat. It was a good process and everything went smoothly. Can't wait to get out on the water!
