Has anyone had experience changing over your wedge oem accent lights to led accents?

Yes, and it varies.

Most of the time you can just find LED replacement bulbs that will just fit in place of the previous filament bulb. However, quality varies.

I usually find some good options on Amazon, or a local automotive store if you're not sure which bulb style you have. That way you can bring the old bulb to match up for a replacement.

Just be careful as LED bulbs are polarity sensitive and lights on boats are often wired randomly polarized since there is no "chassis" ground (except on aluminum boats) and regular bulbs don't care.

Yup, if you put an LED in backwards, it absorbs all the light in its vicinity then it's wicked hard to find.

Your post reminded me of something I read about 15 years ago... A bit of googling turned up a link to it, on a webpage clearly from a previous era. Enjoy: http://lightandsound.net.au/darksuckerpage.html
