Would anyone care to chime in regarding their experience with the Laconia Clinic?

Any other recommendations for a primary care physician on the west side of the lake; Laconia, Meredith, ect...

Much appreciated !

I live in Wolfeboro, however, for many of us (men) Laconia Clinic Urology is a stop on our medical journey. I was referred to Urology by my local primary care provider, and at Laconia I was attended to by Dr Fernholz and his team. I have only good things to say about them, right from first entering the building to when I left. I can't speak about any other services offered there, but I was very pleased Dr Fernholz.

I just tried to send you a PM. Please let me know if it doesn't come through.

Affiliated with LRGH. Known for a few law suits, one doctor quit practice.

A good PCP in Meredith is Dr Misiewicz up near the Rotary.

I have to echo Campguy's comments. I've spent a lot of time this past year with Dr. Fernholz at the Clinic and at LRGH. The original reference was also by my PCP in Wolfeboro. My experience and outcome with both was very good. They're not cheap, but they are worth it.

I've had really good experiences with the Laconia Clinic and Dr Fernholz as well.

As to PCPs I strongly suggest Abigail Olden at Belknap Family Medicine in Meredith. She is wonderful and I've never had to wait more than a few hours to meet with her when its an emergency. She is a PA but is backed up by Caroline Crosby who is a rock star of PCPs here in the lakes regions.

Finally and for what its worth I work in medicine throughout most of NH. I've heard all the bad stories about LRGH. When we first moved back here I even avoided LRGH because of what I heard. Since then I've had a heart condition treated by LRGH, my wife had our newest baby at LRGH, all of the kids day to day and emergency care is at LRGH and we've always received wonderful treatment and very personalized care.

I couldn't be any happier LRGH.

Urologist Dr. Stephen Dierks at Laconia Clinic is excellent.

If you have any cardiac issues, such as hypertension, etc., Dr. Mary Claire Paicopolis is Board Certified in Internal Med & Cardiology and has her office near the Gilford/Laconia town line, across Hounsell Avenue from an excellent ophthalmology group ( Dr Garfinkle et al.) Dr Paicopolis is exceptionally thorough and works very well as a PCP.

LRGH can be excellent in some areas but in some very serious specialty areas I would definitely consider Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon & Concord Hospital in Concord, both of which I have used for surgeries.

Thank you for all the replies. I was interested in the Laconia Clinic for the "one stop shop" of doctors in the same facility. I like the idea of setting specialist appointments and testing/imaging in the same building.

Often, you get referred to a specialist and then to an imaging center and then to a lab for blood work..... and hope that all the docs communicate with each other and receive the test results promptly.

I'm lucky to be relatively healthy but am reaching that age where I'm due for more poking and prodding to keep on top of things. The Laconia Clinic just seemed like a good fit...
