This could be the start of a political, controversial thread, but it's not...
It's the official announcement of Death and Taxes, the new theatrical adventure at the Village Players in Wolfeboro. (It's also my Directorial debut).

What's it About?
In Hendricks, they’re looking for a murderer. At the small-town, city council meeting, Mayor Kathleen Lyles boldly announces that the agenda will include an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the murder of the stranger who walked into town last week.

Who murdered the stranger? Was it Cora Sedgewick, the nosy neighbor? Or newspaper editor Eddie King, who’s right on the spot to report the facts, if he could only find a pencil? Or the doctor who dispenses pills freely. Or Sheriff Thorne who may have something to hide? Or Carl or Mattie Johansen, who both would rather be somewhere else? Or quiet, little Lydia, the secretary whose recordkeeping may have some errors. Maybe the mayor herself, whose leadership is always in question? See if you can guess.

What Happens?
Act I- Hendricks High School-The Meeting Begins
Intermission- Investigate the scene of the crime on stage and take the “Prop Quiz”. Enjoy refreshments by Stella Loona. Enter the “Who Dunnit” contest.
Act 2- Hendricks High School-The Meeting Continues

This is not your average theatre experience.

Bring your pre-bought ticket to Wolfe's Tavern before the show, have a bite to eat and receive a FREE pass on the daily Winni Belle cruise.
There are TWO contests at each show with great prizes. (Winning names are drawn at the end of the show)

Shows are April 4 and 5 and April 11and 12 at 8:00 pm.
April 13th there is a 2:00 pm matinee.
Tickets are $12
Purchase at Blacks Paper Store in Wolfeboro or at:

So why moan and groan during tax season? Why not come over to Wolfeboro and have a good meal and a good laugh?

12-dollars is pretty cheap for a play like this.....too bad it is all the way over in Wolfeboro.....which is basically like traveling all the way to a foreign country, coming from Meredith.....especially what with so many of the roads being in such unbelievable crappy condition.

Cate, what a great idea. You have accomplished many things since your arrival in Wolfeboro a couple of years ago. I remember your venture checking out the different areas on move to the Lakes Region from NJ. You decided to settle in in Wolfeboro.
You have brought much energy to Wolfeboro. Thank you very much. You purchased a home. Then you had your 25' Catalina sailboat shipped to Wolfeboro Bay. You have sailed and competed in many sailboat races. You bought a pontoon boat for fishing and when the winds were light for sailing. And now your debut as Director of "Death and Taxes" play at the Village Theater. Congratulations. Best of luck on the shows success. And welcome home to Wolfeboro.

It's been a wonderful journey ChaseDawg. I LOVE Wolfeboro. Even though we lost every sail boat race we were in .

Congrats to CateP for her directorial debut!

From the Baysider

In her Village Player directorial debut, Cate Poole is being assisted by Carol Bense. They are leading this ensemble cast of Village Players veterans as they discover the quirky and colorful small-town. The hilarious dialogue along with some surprising twists will leave audiences laughing… and wondering.
