I thought I'd take a moment to share a gift idea that has helped me shine threw this holiday the past few years. Send your valentine to a spa. Trust me;.arrange a message or pedicure for your special someone and the day will go well! I've done so with the Opecchee Spa, Sunday's Spa, and Body Designs By Joy and have had great feedback about each. Try them.

So... I hate to be predictable on this matter. Any Ideas?

Everyone is different. Some people are extravagant, some enjoy simple things. My idea of a wonderful valentine's day would be some pretty spring flowers ( you can get at Hannaford or Shaws) and a meal I don't have to prepare and serve. (Doesn't even have to be a meal out) getting home on time would be the icing on the Valentines cake!):)

in Laconia is voted on of the top flower shop in NH, and rightly so.
Nice floral arrangement that can be transferred to the garden has been the MS. favorite. As well as a day drive for dinner at Bedford Village Inn, Grandview Hotel, Wentworth by the Sea etc. Spas are for Girls Weekend Out.

I like when my wife gets me tools. :)

When I saw the title I had to double check the calendar.

Kuddos for you to making an effort LOL my husband does the standard card and flowers, usually last min LOL

I am a mother, a mother of many, so I always think about how nice it would be to get away for a night.

Have you ever thought about doing a scavenger hunt type thing? Maybe leave clues for a route to the end spot? For example, Clue 1- Go to _______ hairdresser to get hair and/or nails done, you call ahead and make appointment. Have hairdresser give her clue 2 with address of a store she can get something nice to wear...give her clue 3 when she is done picking something out, she can text you and you can give her the address of a Restaurant and time to meet you.

Then you be at the restaurant or meet her in bar waiting for her with some flowers.

seems like a lot of work, but I bet she will love it

You'll never get her off the wood pile to shovel the driveway and haul water if you get her a new chainsaw.

I opted for candy from kellerhaus which is always welcome. She already has several good snow shovels so I passed on that idea.:rolleye2:

Did you get the extended warranty? Chicks dig extended warranties, it shows you care and are thinking about the future. Every woman wants a guy who thinks about their future.

So, go buy an extended warranty online and give her that too. I'm sure she'll see it in a whole new light and get all swoozy for you.

Hahaha +1 extended warranty makes'em weak in the knees. If you want to go over the top a nice new microfiber car wash sponge with two Andes chocolate candies on top aw2duit.:)

**legal disclaimer, you never heard that from me.

Excessive consumerism has taken the Saint out of St. Valentines Day. Learn from his example and live life every day loving and honoring others....

"St. Valentine was martyred in the third century for the crime of marrying Christian couples and his refusal to pay homage to the Roman emperor as a living deity. Before his death, according to legend, St. Valentine cured a young woman of blindness. He wrote at least one letter to this fortunate woman which he signed with, "your Valentine.""

Excessive consumerism has taken the Saint out of St. Valentines Day.You are 100% correct, but don't stop there. There isn't an honorary day or holiday that hasn't been commercialized. I feel there is little meaning to holidays and seems get less and less as time goes on. We have been trained to stressfully buy something for everyone to show we care.

Your history lesson is interesting, I didn't know that. Realize this thread became humorous to keep the world smiling, but oddly, as you pointed out, just buying something to make things better doesn't always make things better.

Ok why did I just that....if it's something big enough and really expensive it WILL make things better. KIDDING!:)
