She usually has at least one post a day. Looks like she hasn't made a post since November 9th? I hope all is well with her and her family.

SunsetPointWentworth, thanks for asking about me.

Back at the beginning of July, I was walking in my brand new sandals on our deck and my foot just gave out. I tried to heal it myself, but by mid October, I realized it was time to see a doctor. Turns out I severed the ligament on the outside of my foot and tore a couple of tendons. :( It was a more detailed surgery that was expected.

I dropped off the Fourm to stay on task for getting ready for surgery, hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping and decorating.

Surgery was on December 6th, just over two weeks ago. To say its been a rough road is an understatement. Not because of the surgery though. I have some sort of immune disorder and being exposed to all sorts of stuff sent me into a horrible allergic reaction tailspin. On the upside, the severe stomach pain that went along with the reactions kept my mind off my foot. Grastorcrom really helped get me through. (A mast cell inhibitor.). The stitches came out on Friday. The doctor was surprised that my incisions were not as healed as they should be for being two weeks out from surgery. As he was removing the sutures, he noticed that where the punctures went in and came out, the skin was very irritated. In all the years that he has been performing surgeries, he had never seen such a thing. He is pretty sure the it is from the wash they used to sterilize the area prior to the surgery, a betadine alternative. This explains why my incision area was really bothering me. Happily, each day brings improvement and with luck, I will never have to go under the knife again.

Still taking it very easy. Rest, ice and elevation. Non weight bearing until next Friday. I am really looking forward to having a good foot for the 2014 season at the lake! I really missed hiking the island this year.

So sorry you had to go through all that (at any time of the year.) Glad you're on the mend. I'm sure Harry & Khaleesi helped you through it! All the best for the holidays and for the coming year.

But other than all that, it was a pretty routine operation? :D

Hopefully you get some downtime after the holidays to heal.

Glad to hear you are healing RG, good luck with that. Like they say "minor" or "routine" surgery is when it is being done to someone else:)
