View Full Version : Missing The Lake
I grew up spending my summers at Lake Winnipesaukee. I loved it from the time I was a tiny child. Our cottage was on Pinnacle Park road and we all swam whenever we could. I now live in Oklahoma and miss New Hampshire terribly. When I found this link, I cried looking at all of the pictures. Every day I check the photo post and the Weirs Cam, just to feel a little closer. I want so badly to move back there but I guess it willnever happen. I mourn the loss of childhood and the most beautiful lake in the country. Thank you for posting all of those pictures. Keep up the good work.

Liz, where on Pinnacle Park Road did you vacation. My family rented "The Pines", which is the house a couple of houses up from the public beach, for the month of August for many, many years.
I too wish I could live at the lake year round but find I have to be thankful for the week we have each year at, yes, "The Pines".
I remember The Pines very well. I use to go to that public beach sometimes too. We had friends who rented one of the cottages right next to the beach. Does the name Marden or Nigrelli ring a bell? My last name is Nielsen. We had a cottage further down the road about a mile maybe. A very steep drive down from the road.
I envy you being able to go once a year. I haven't been in many. It's funny how one forgets how clear the water and air are there, after being away for so long. If only I could move back.
