View Full Version : Thanks to the person that moved my trailer in the rattlesnake lot.

I went to grab my waverunner trailer today and to my shock it wasn't where I left it. So I started looking around and couldn't find it and being pissed that it was stolen, I started to drive out. For those of you that know the lot, the trailers are everywhere. So as I was driving out there was a trailer in the way and to both my happiness ( that it wasn't stolen) and to my disbelief, my trailer was left in the middle.

My trailer had a tag, wasn't blocking anyone and has been there since May. I didn't move any trailers to put it in, so why a fellow islander would feel its ok to do this is disappointing.

So if you keep your trailer in the rattlesnake lot and moved a waverunner trailer to make room for your "special privilege" trailer, thanks for the neighborly act of kindness.

I do as well, but its a waverunner trailer so you can almost pick it up by hand.

Even at the Glendale site, any trailers left unattended will be subjected to moving or even stolen. Even with a hitch lock. I have personally seen this many times through the years leaving a boat trailer at Glendale, WAM, Dave's Motorboat Shop and Alton to name a few. It is almost a fact of living up here. The most bizarre incident was when someone swap my trailer for another same model trailer with defective brakes and tires. The local police did a TIN research and the trailer was stolen from the cape! My trailer never showed up in the database.

So expect the event that your trailer may not be there :(

My uncle had his boat sitting on the trailer in his driveway, which was way down a dirt road. He came out to his camp one day and boat and trailer were gone. After that he decided that taking off one of the wheels on the trailer would slow the thieves down. Never had a problem after that.

Thank you for your post.... Hopefully the person will read it here and think twice before doing it again.

Unless there is an emergency situation I do not believe anyone has the right move your trailer, boat, equipment what so ever. Especially in a situation like this where it was not blocking anyone.

Even if this was done to allow for the movement of another trailer why not return it? Why put it somewhere the owner has to search for it?

Moving something that is not yours is simply wrong.

There was a conversation once about people moving another persons' boat to make room at the dock..... I wouldn't like someone moving my trailer...... Don't even get me started on touching my boat..

I felt it necessary as it is at led lot for rattlesnake so that means a co islander did it.

Dpg and kto,

Don't like it, move on. Enjoy the weather!

I may be dim, but not sure what "it is at led lot" means.

I don't know the lot at all.
But maybe your over reacting here some.
Could it be that by moving your small wave runner trailer made room and extra space for someone else's larger and maybe some other people's trailers?

True,no one likes their equipment touched and moved around. But people also don't care for space being used up when there is better places to be used for small things to make room for big things.
If that was the case they should have left a note, but with the wind, or maybe no pen and paper, there you go.

No one stole anything, so give your neighbors the benefit of the doubt.

For me its an issue to have someone move my stuff, unless I placed it in their way. Who decides what trailer is best suited for what space?

I'm glad people can be ok with others moving their belongings without their knowledge. The reason for my post is that I'm not and feel that people should respect others space.

are people taking issue with this thread.... It was done for multiple reason that I can see....

1-- someone was upset that there property was moved --- this is never alright no matter what the circumstances....
2-- this was not done at some random business, or marina... this was done in a lot for RattleSnake Island residents... which means it has limited access....
3-- Many people read this forum, and potentially the person who did this may see the post and think twice before doing the same thing again...
4-- because many people read this forum, if the same thing has happened to someone else, they will know that things have been moving around in the lot, and take some time to look around a little more.....
