Awhile back, someone posted part of a John Denver song and I remember thinking it was really cool and now I cannot find it &/or remember it. If you posted it, could you please repost or direct me to the older thread?
Thanks :)

Do you remember any of the words? Even if you know one or two it may help jog one of our memories. Do you have any recollection as to what it may have been about?

if you know some of the words, just plug them into this neat app. It will find the song and display the lyrics!

All of John Denver's lyrics are found thru Google and.....some of his biggest hits were written by Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert....they were known as " Fat City" and wrote "Take Me Home Country Roads" and Afternoon Delight" and collaborated on several others.

Danoff and his wife "Taffy" Nivert were both members of The Starland Vocal Band when they wrote "Afternoon Delight" in the mid 70's. I was a kid and the song still reminds me of vacations at The Red Jacket. WRKO, with Dale Dormon, played the song a lot the summer of 76'!
Although the lyrics meant an afternoon at the pool, Story Land and Santa's Village for me, it had a totally different meaning for my parents!!;)
I block that part of the memories out!!!:rolleye1:

This brings back loads of memory in the Mt Washington Valley. Ask your parents about the Brothers II lounge in front of the airport! :D

I'm 46 years old and fear a series of cardiac related maladies if I hear even one story about my parents escapades while visiting the lakes region.
Some stories are better left untold. ;)

Before the genesis of the Starland Vocal band...Bill Danoff was sitting at a table in his friend's restaurant....Clyde's of Georgetown and noticed a napkin with the words and a short menu ..."Afternoon Delights" he started making some notes (lyrics) on the napkin and thus wrote his No. 1 Hit song. He later recorded the song in several versions in the early 70's and finally with Denver's recording and publishing company and did it at one of his many appearances at the legendary Cellar Door. Later someone asked him if the meaning of the song was a "Nooner" and he had never heard the word.??? While touring with Denver in large arenas, Starland opened for Denver...and had the No. 1 record....Denver had nothing on the charts at that time. Brings back many memories. :)

I'm a big John Denver fan and would love to know what lyrics you're talking about. I have a lot of his music on my iPod and would probably know the tune if I knew just a few of the lyrics. He was an amazing poet, vocalist and lyricist.
i.e. From the song "Season Suite Summer" on his Rocky Mountain High album:
" And oh I love the life within me
I feel a part of everything I see
And oh I love the life around me
A part of everything is here in me"
Check out the song with pics on You Tube
If you don't have the "Rocky Mountain High" album.........just go get it! So good!!
