hi all, I need to burn winter leaves and sticks on my driveway. I had to do this a couple of years ago and left a scorch mark that is just going away. is there some prep I can do to do mitigate this?
thank you in advance

Personally, I wouldn't do any burning on an asphalt driveway. Blacktop is made up of aggregate and asphalt cement. Asphalt cement is basically a refinery of crude oil and some additives. Repeated burning on the asphalt will actually burn the oil out of the blacktop leaving just the aggregate. Its much like when gas spills on your driveway and dissolves the oil, which basically binds the aggregates. When installed asphalt is heated to a certain temperature to ease the workability . A direct flame will burn the oil away like an oil lamp. This is just my opinion. Maybe try a metal barrel on some cement blocks. Good Luck

I second and third wifi comment and then they usually only allow burning after 5 PM and and then that is pretty much governed by the weather.:)
