Looking for info

In the mid 1960's my Grandparents used to bring me to Lake Winninesaukee for a week in the summer. They have sinced passed and I would now like to bring my grandchildren. I know it was the southern end of the lake, possibly Alton Bay. The owners or operators of the cabins where we stayed were the Ieta's. It was right on the lake. I was only 10 or 11 but I remember hearing music across the water and my Grandmother said there was a band playing in a band shell. I don't know if this helps with locating the cabins, but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Quite possibly the Aieta's on the Moultonborough side of Ctr. Harbor bay and the bandstand would have been across the water where it remains today, though redesigned.

Perhaps you stayed at Colonial Pines on Alpine Park Road in Moultonborough. The band concerts in town can be enjoyed quite well from there.

Linda, in Alton Bay, there are cottages starting on the east side of the bay right across the street from the town beach. They are just across the road. Going out that road, there are several older cottages that would be within "the sound" of the bandstand that is on the other side of the bay. Names have undoubtably changed over the years.

On the other side of the road, heading toward Laconia is Sandy Point with many cottages, sitting out on a point of land, with beaches on all three sides.

Were the cottages on the water, or across a street? Also, on the east side of the bay was the Oak Birch Inn, which had a couple of bowling alleys in the basement, and showed movies there as well. Any help with your recollections?

In addition to the bandstand in Alton Bay, there was the roller rink (now condo's) where the town docks are. There certainly would have been a lot of music coming from there.

Could also have been in the christian conference center area
