One died, the father. Reports said they hit a rock and the sled sailed 70+ feet through the air before landing in a stream.
Looks like they were coming off of Lake Massabesic way to fast.

Ok, I did read the article right....70ft is insane. Eye witness reports indicate the child may have been driving?

I didn't see anywhere indicating they were coming from the lake though. But if that's the case is the ice on Massabesic even safe, maybe they felt it start sinking and decided to get off the ice a little too fast?

The live report from the scene showed what looked to be a large field or a lake.
Honestly not sure.
Scary and sad, especially for a 9 year old to witness his dad passing.

The ice on Massabesic is plenty safe right now...

Not sure what caused the accident but my heart goes out to the boy who lost his father. Such a tragedy...

The sled did go 70 feet through the air, he was coming off the lake and are now saying his throttle stuck. The 9 year old son is going to be ok few broken bones and some facial injuries.
