Cellar flooded with 1 foot of water and boiler went out. I am working on the problem and have removed most of water and called furnace repair guy.
Also called a guy to check out the drain under the cellar with camera to see if it is backed up
May Need help:
Removing water
Damaged material
Finding and repairing problem
removing mold if needed
The water came up through floor. Never had water issues before
Any one have recommendations and does insurance cover this type problem as it was not flooded from rain or river overflows

Try Rowell P&H they do a lot of that includig the camera work. Try a place like Allbrite for the mold concerns. You dont want to mess with having that left behind for certain!

Unfortunately I hate to say it but unless you have flood insurance it most likely won't be covered. My parents had the same problem during the mothers day flood (2006?) where the water table rose and came up through the floor. Luckily it didn't do much damage and we were able to control it.
All insurance companies are different though. Make sure you take pictures.

This is a great company, they will show up, clean up and dry it out. They use large dehumidifiers and fans to dry things out. It can take a few days for the dehumidifiers to dry things out but they work quickly on the cleanup. You need to act quickly to dry things out or you will get mold. Used these guys down here in Mass. for my mother's house when her hot water heater let go. Insurance paid for it, not sure that insurance will cover your issue.
Good luck

If the back up is on the city/town side of the property you may be in luck, not sure how it works in your city or town, each is different when it comes to water/sewer problems. I'd guess your sump drains into the city/town main and a blockage is backing up into your basement. I'm sure if it were sewerage you'd know it. The problem is proving where the blockage is. The camera with DVD my city uses would determine exactly how far out the problem is and if it's the homeowners issue or the towns.
Nothing worse than water problems, luckily you caught it at 1'. I've gone to a few homes where the basement is flooded and the water is up to the ceiling...usually a water main break.
Best of luck

what was the cause? that is the determining factor in whether or not insurance coverage. Depending on who you are with and what type of enhancements are on your policy, you might/might not have coverage

Insurance company Allstate
Unless the accident or damage was sudden, like a lightning strike, a broken water pipe or similar event. They wont pay for something that has occurred over time . Roots growing into a drain pipe in 20 year and clogged them up do not qualify.
Not worth while to file a claim and then have to fight to get the claim paid and then have your insurance rates increase.
But thanks everyone for the suggestions

Yeah, that is a wear and Tear item unfortunatley, most carriers would not cover such an item

Sorry to hear you are still having problems Sunbeam, call the number I gave you, I'm sure they will help you out, you may want to ask about cost if that is a concern since it sounds like insurance won't pay for you. I have no connection with this company. Good luck.

I used ServePro out of Concord, I believe, for a similar issue at our place in Meredith several years ago. It was covered by insurance, I don't recall how much they charged, but they did a thorough drying job.
