I know this is not a lake post....but I found out today that my 25 year old niece died yesterday morning. They don't know why, but they think that it might have been Hurricane Sandy, as her house was destroyed during the storm and that maybe she got some mold or parasite from the debris and sewage. She was finally able to get back in to start cleaning a few weeks ago, and they think that is when she might not have been careful enough while cleaning up. They are doing an autopsy today and flying her body back on Monday to Bangor. My wife and I just got back from Kauai and when we turned the phones back on that is when we got the messages. Apparently she was not feeling good for the past week or so. went to the hospital and they sent her to a different hospital where she collapsed. They took her to the OR thinking it might even be an appendicitis that ruptured. But she died on the table.
So the moral of the story is if you don;t feel just right....Go to the hospital post haste.
So say a prayer for the family. It is not going to be a good Christmas anymore for us. :(

I found out this morning that it was a burst appendicitis....Both hospitals misdiagnosed it as an ovarian cyst. When the second hospital opened her up they were going for the ovarian cyst and when none were discovered, started looking around and that is when her heart stopped and they could not revive her. Autopsy yesterday discovered the appendics (sp?) had burst and that is why there were no white blood cells.
I see a lawsuit brewing......:(

Sorry for your loss, my condolences...
Thanks for the update. They deserve a law suit for something that simple to be misdiagnosed. Prayers your way Lakesrider.

What are the names of the Hospitals, I want to make sure that I don't go to either one of them.
A simple ultrasound test can identify an enlarged appendix or an abscess.

I don't know which hospitals she went to. I'm sure I'll find something out tomorrow when I go up to Bangor for the services.
Ooops. I guess one was New York City Hospital according to the Obit.

Lindsay Ann Corro
Obituary
BANGOR - Lindsay Ann Corro
June 30th 1986 - December 15th 2012
"One can never see the moment coming when we are called from this world, but to be called too early is such heartbreak for those left behind...our hearts are heavy for our beautiful Lindsay this day...may your soul be free and happy."
Lindsay Ann Corro, 26, passed away unexpectedly of acute appendicitis, Saturday morning, Dec. 15, 2012, at a New York City hospital. She was born in Bangor, June 30, 1986, the daughter of Lee and Rosemary (Andrle) Corro.
Lindsay graduated from Bangor High School in 2004 and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in Apparel Product Design from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She moved to New York City in 2009 to pursue her career in design, where she fell in love with the city and met her devoted boyfriend, Chris Lehman. Lindsay will be remembered for her exuberant laugh, wonderful sense of humor, and loving heart. She lit up a room with her radiant smile and brilliant blue eyes. Lindsay touched many lives and was a gift to those who knew her.
Baxter State Park was a favorite family destination; she enjoyed hiking Katahdin and the neighboring mountains. A passionate student of dance, she excelled at tap and jazz at The Top Hat II dance studio. The Andrle-family camp in Carrabassett was a favorite place for the whole family and Lindsay grew up skiing on the slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain. She continued to make time to head to the "Loaf" whenever she visited. She had an enduring love of the outdoors, spending many summer days at her family lakeside home on Phillip's Lake in Lucerne.
Lindsay is survived by her father and mother, Lee and Rosemary Corro, of Dedham; her brother, Zachary Corro, also of Dedham and his girlfriend, Nicole Murphy. She also leaves behind her boyfriend, Christopher Lehman of Long Beach, N.Y.; her grandparents, Carolee and Harvard Corro of Brewer, and Dr. Armand Andrle of Eddington and his dear companion Patricia Morelli. She will be missed by her uncle, Thomas Armand Andrle and his wife Marie, her aunts, Kerri Corro Lynch and her husband Joseph, Kathleen Andrle and her husband Paul Gamache, Ellen Andrle Breindel and her husband Tim, Jeanne Andrle Fuller and her husband Chuck, Louisa Andrle Hess, and Anne Marie Andrle; her cousins, Elise Chasse Schellhase, Samuel and Mary Fuller, Kaitlyn, Christina and Eric Andrle, Cameron and Caleb Lynch, Aurora and Andrea Hess. She also leaves her beloved cats Beemer and Little. We will keep her in our hearts as an inspiration every day.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cheryl Lehman and her daughter, Jen, for all their loving support.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-6 pm. Thursday December 20, 2012, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor, where a service will be held at 6 p.m. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service.
