XM or Sirius???

I spend several hours per day in my car and prefer to listen to talk radio, instead of music. Due mainly to the spotty reception I get from the local AM and FM stations, I am considering installing a satellite radio system in my car. I have been hearing conflicting feedback about XM and Sirius and would welcome any comments about which provider delivers the best and most reliable reception in the Lakes Region. Also, any feedback about which equipment and who to buy it from would be appreciated.

We have Sirius in our Jeep.It's been great,although the installation was expensive.We have a friend who has XM and feels the same about his.They are getting more and more stations ie:nfl,you don't get all talk radio,like Rush Limbaugh etc.but it's great to listen to court t.v. or fox,cnn, etc.it's a lot of fun.good luck

I have Sirius in the my boat and I love it. I chose it over XL only because I happened to like a particular radio when my old one died and it came with a free Sirius receiver.

No issues with reception around the lake. In fact, I'm considering dumping my digital cable box in my house because I only use it for the music and the selection is much better on Sirius. Now they have portable receivers that connect to your existing stereo in the car, home and boat. That saves on multiple service charges and the music, or talk, is wherever you are.

It turns out that Sirius just signed up the NFL, so every game will be available, and with the local announcers so I can listen to Gil and Gino again. I was bummed out that I had to listen to the national announcers during the Super Bowl.

I have XM and I am VERY happy with it...no issues.

I chose Xm because when I got it Sirius was not available in this area yet. XM also had more subscribers at the time and Sirius was having some financial issues...which I believe are all set now.

I love my XM but have no real experience with Sirius....my two friends have XM too and have no problems.
