My wife and I along with our two boys hope to make our mid-winter expedition to the lake tomorrow. Breakfast at the Tilton Diner will be stop #1. Next we hope to travel around the lake and do some shopping. We plan to bring the boys sleds with us. Does anyone know of any hills on public land that we can check out? Sounds like the weather is going to be nice, so it should be a good day to head North and start dreaming about the '05 boating season :D
I was just reminded when you mentioned sledding, that local mountains (such as Gunstock) have the tubing parks, which are really great fun, and highly recommended. I know they have 2 and 4 hour passes if you are interested. I'm aware that this is going off your original post slightly, on how you wanted to bring sleds, but this would be a GREAT alternative if you are unable to find anything else to do.
If interested, click here (http://www.gunstock.com/frames_index.cfm) and click TUBING at the top of the page.
I'm a little late. . .

Hope that in your trip around the lake you were able to take advantage of the warm weather and the good conditions in Alton Bay. Certainly were a lot of plane activity, and the snowmobiles were having a lot of fun on the radar run strip. Hope you and your family had a great day. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_7_2.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSXXXXXX42US)
Thanks for rubbing it in UPTHESAUKEE! I'm just a little tired! Wow!
So anyway, I highly recommend this for anyone who is GOING TO be going sledding etc. anytime soon!

Thanks everyone. We had a nice time on Sun. We ended up sledding on a small hill next to the Gilford Elementary School. It was perfect for our two young boys. The hill was small enough not to intimidate them. It was also easy for me to pull/carry them back to the top :) We left too late for breakfast in Tilton, but had a nice lunch at Georges in Meredith. The weather couldn't have been better.
I still feel a little awkward for posting the day after your return!

KTO..next day "ain't bad". In fact, I didn't understand your post about me "rubbing it in" til now.:emb:
And next day is really pretty quick...I have a good laugh at some posts where 3 to 4 months later some folks will offer their opinion on where to go or what to do, or where to eat...etc...
Way I look at it, may be a good idea for next time...or someone else may think it is a good idea for their adventure.
But now I understand what you did... http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_101v.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSXXXXXX42US)I'll just "rub it in" in all the right spots. :rolleye1:
LOL, thanks! By the way. . . that smiley massage is beginning to look pretty good right about now!
