Hey, anyone here ever been to the top of Red Hill before? All that I have to say is what an awesome view! It's not a difficult hike at all, and when you get to the top, it is well worth it. You can look behind you and see (sorry im not sure the name of the lake!) and in front you can see far past Center Harbor. If you were lucky enough to arrive when the fire tower is open, the view is much better! I'm looking to go again in the spring or fall with my dog!

KTO,

Were you just recently there? I am looking at the possibility of coming up to the Lake for pres. day weekend and am trying to figure out some good winter hikes.

Actuall I was there this past summer. I don't know if it's available in the winter, but highly recommended for an easy, 4-6 hour hike (depending on how many stops, breaks, etc. you take!).

Dear KTO:

Red Hill is a fun hike. Try Eagle's cliff on the Wastern side also. Off of the Bean Road. Awsome view of Squam.

Please keep in mind the ticks up there! My Shepherd got "creamed" by them a few Winters ago. They seem to hide out on the granite ledges to the East of the work shed. I mean thay are thick as, Um, Fleas!

Have a ball!

Misty.

I know what you mean. This past summer I probably got appr. 6 ticks, give or take. I also (Ooh, more fun!) got about 10 leaches, but none seemed to be able to draw blood (Thank God!).
