We drove through Wolfeboro the other day and saw that the pottery shop is gone and the building is undergoing a major renovation. Does anyone know what's coming?
Lydia's Cafe is moving into that space.

My understanding is that Lydia's will operate in the AM and perhaps lunch then in the evening there will be a Tapas operation that will be owned and operated by the same folks that run The Restaurant next door. The building transformation looks great and if the Tapas operation is anywhere near the quality of the Restaurant it should be awesome. Even if the food is terrible which is doubtful the building improvement is a major plus for Wolfeboro.
The only question I have is why wasn't it open in the spring? The fall is a difficult time to open/expand a restaurant.

I had heard that something was opening in the soon-to-be-ex-Lydia's space in October sometime. That would imply that Lydia's is moving out sometime soon.

It may very well be Lydia's or a tapas place but I do not believe that it will be run by "The Restaurant".

Lydia's will be moving next door and become Lydia's Meethouse (Not certain if they will be hold Quaker meetings but we shall see). In the place of the current Lydia's will be an organic sandwich and tea place (Hopefully with coffee also)
The reason why it did not open in the early summer as planned was someone forgot that they required a grease trap for the new kitchen and the floor in the building was poured concrete so they then felt they had to put in a new raised floor for the entire building and then that required pouring a new exterior approach and patio area. Unfortunately it appears that took the contractor out of their schedule and when the next job came up on the schedule, they went off and did that work leaving the new space not fully finished. Supposedly it will be ready by mid October but Lydia's may close before that to allow the Organic folks to come in and start that place up. Hard to follow the entire situation because no one has issued a printed program yet.
Hopefully as a first post this is acceptable to those who feel one must come on here and post 6-8 cum bay yah type postings before earning their creds.
As to the poster who thinks one should visit a restaurant 6-8 times before making a review. With the swiftness restaurants open and close most places would never have a review good or bad if we all waited that long to post.
