On Friday 8/31 we will have a "Blue Moon" over the big lake..

For anyone interested in the whole "Blue Moon" thing.. here is an excellent explanation of the event and the history and math behind the Blue Moon.

You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Let's all dance under the moon and stars Fri. night:) .

I have a friend who named his boat Blue Moon. it is off the lake now but I think he still has it. He used to be a DJ back in the day.

After a number of attempts, the haze on the horizon won the day. Getting a picture picture "just as" the full moon was rising just didn't happen.

The only decent shot was I got was about 20 minuets after the supposed moon rise when the moon finally poked thru the haze.

Next full moon is the last weekend in September, maybe with a bit less humidity we'll have a better chance!

While trying to get a final shot of the blue moon setting, which didn't work, I did manage a nice sunrise from Baby Beach in Lake Shore Park, this morning (9-1)
