9 hours of cleaning....

Sometimes you just have to give a boat a good cleaning. I think I lost about 5 lbs just from sweating.:laugh: I have my boat up for sale so decided to give it a bow to stern cleaning. Had a few different people come to look at it. Spent some time going over it but no commitments yet.

Looks pretty good for a 1986....At least I think so any way......:D

That is a great looking boat for a 1986!

I used to have a 250 Wellcraft Coastal in salt water back in the 1990's. Great boat!

I am sure you got a lot of enjoyment out of this boat.

Good luck with the sale. I have my 2007 Sea Ray 270 SLX on the market, now under commitment for the third time. Tough market.

I have to give some credit to Tom at Unique Boat in Moultonborough. He painted the stripes a few years ago and buffed it out. He also built me a much better swim platform for it. Stronger and safer. Sad to have to sell but it is just too much boat for me now....Looking to down size just a bit that's all.

FWIW...

I just sold my boat through Craig's List. I cross-linked it to "The Hull Truth" because it's easier to add pictures there. I advised 'info packet' available on request (also left a hard copy on the boat) and sent an attachment with that to anyone who asked for it, and gave them the address so they could stop in at their convenience.

Since it was a 'well seasoned' boat I was fairly blunt in the info packet. There were couple tire-kickers who I needed to disabuse of the idea what condition a 30 year old boat should be in and 'yes, "as-is" meant you buy it warts and all.' I'd have sold it to anyone with cash, of course, but my target was the D-I-Y type and that's the person who bought it.

Having an info packet made up, saved from having to answer the same questions over and over. It also saved time for a number of people who would have needed to drive here to see a boat that wasn't for them. It only took me a couple hours to put togeher including a sample bill-of-sale.

I shouldn't tell you this but I used scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner, and pledge....I had already waxed with it with Collinite auto wax, so it just needed a quick re-shine for the day while people looked at it.:D

That boat looks great for it's age.
The sad thing is I often see boats only a few years old out on the lake that look like they are 10 years old. :eek:
I never could understand paying as much as we do for a boat then not taking the time to keep it up.
