Hello,
We are staying on the lake in M-boro and was wondering if there are any islands that would allow you to dock (or anchor offshore) and do a picnic and explore. We have young kids and this would make for a nice afternoon adventure. Appreciate any suggestions.

Google Lakes Region Conservation Trust. They have a number of islands that are accessible for hiking and picnic. Most notable are Stonedam and Blanchard Island.
Two islands are suppose to be accessible, Rattlesnake and Timber, do not have docks. There is a maintenance dock on Rattlesnake and it is not part of the trust. Timber is unique, I won't go there.

Five Mile Island http://www.lrct.org/5mldescr.html
Both are excellent locations for the activities you've described.

Where will your boat be located on the lake? Blanchard Island is located between Marker 52 and Greens Basin. It is a wonderful island that is open to the public and there is a dock.
