Hey all. I posted some recent posts on my stay. fixed boat problem, and the family had a great time. We will be returning next yr, but not on Governors Island I don't think. A little expensive, however very nice. I have an old 89 larson 17' bowrider. Way to small to be comfortable out in the open water. If some of you have a chance to shout out some models of an upgrade I'd be more than appreciative. Looking to sell mine for about 2800. Invest about 5000. Looking for something to tow to a local small lake in the summer, but also can handle Winnipesaukee. And something that can fit about 8. So most likely looking at a bowrider. Thanks again for anyone who gave me boat advise when it wouldn't start ( Bad fuel pick-up). and thanks for the person in the white/yellow boat who towed me and the kids when it died on June 30th. I think the boat was called "fast ?" Can't remember the last name, sorry...

Besides the budget, the capbility of your tow vehicle will set a limit on the size of your next purchase. I have no soecific recommendations for the boat but suggest you consider holding back some of the budget for unexpected repairs. Good luck with your search.

Several years ago I was seriously thinking about an upgrade in two ways, 1), a larger copy of what I had (Glastron 20), and, 2), a change to a pontoon boat. I spent a lot of time watching boats come and go from the Wolfeboro Town Docks and spoke often with boat operators about my concerns relative to their boat. Everyone was more than willing to talk about their boat, particularly the pontoon owners. In the end I did not buy a new boat, but I did learn alot about boats on the Lake.

Other boats owners may in fact be your best source of information about the handling and suitability of a boat on the Lake. After all, they are where the rubber meets the road (so to speak).
