Ok folks, we need your votes to support the NH Lakes Association Lake Host program.

You can read the details on the Merrymeeting Lake and Lake Wentworth Association websites. Here (http://www.mmlake.org/), and here (http://www.lwa.org/2012/03/help-the-lake-host-program-lake-hosts-prevent-weeds-from-entering-our-lake/#more-678).

It only takes ~10 seconds a day, now through March 15th.

If you go to the voting website, there are numbers posted below each entry. I believe these may be the current vote totals. If so, the Lake Host program is in the lead! But there is another program close behind.

Keep up with your votes! :)

Lake Host is a fantastic program. I'm afraid of the NH Lake Association robbing the kitty for their own agendas.

Lake Host is a fantastic program. I'm afraid of the NH Lake Association robbing the kitty for their own agendas. What's wrong with the NHLA agenda? Isn't it focused on good ecology for the lake? It is important that someone coordinate those efforts.

I'm confused too. The NH Lake Association runs the Lake Host program. It IS their agenda.

Also, as far as I can tell by reading the rules, for this contest, the funds must be used as earmarked in the contest.

I went to the NHLA's web site, http://www.nhlakes.org/lake-host-program.htm , to learn more about the Lake Host program. I enjoyed the training video.

The Lake Host Porgram is a program that benifits all of NH Lakes

The other organization that is close in the voting is "One Million Stewards". I'm sure they are a fine organization and they appear to have similar missions to the Lake Host Program in New Hampshire.

The difference is that Lake Host Program is a NH ONLY organization and One Million Stewards is a national organization.

If we win this vote then the State of NH and NH Lakes will benifit much more than it would if a national organization wins because the grant dollars will be spread accross the whole country.

Lets face it the lakes in NH and the Lakes Region in particular are a huge driver of the NH economy. Lets do everything we can to keep the lakes clean and prevent the spread of invasive species.

Vote for the "Lake Host Program Brochure" every day until March 15th. You can also vote on your smartphone as well.

While we're on this topic I'd also like to give a shout out to VLAP (the VOLUNTEER LAKE ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (http://des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/water/wmb/vlap/index.htm)) and many thanks to the fine volunteers who monitor our local lakes and ponds.

I've sent it to friends/coworkers etc. only takes a few seconds, and they all benefit from the lake as well (not to mention my beer fridge)

Does the attempt to vote work if I have cookies turned off? I don't like to enable that except for specific things. I don't like the thought of someone "out there" executing their code on my PC.

You'll know if your vote counted if the green box that says VOTE NOW, changes to a green check mark and it says I VOTED.
You can do that every 24 hours.
We are back in the lead!

One more day and the Lake Host program has regained a slight lead.

Keep voting!

While I certainly want the Lake Host program to get these funds, I do hope that BoatUS decides to provide grants to both programs. The One Million Stewards program has similar goals to Lake Host and all would benefit from their work. The voting has been so close and these 2 programs have been neck and neck the whole way.

I don't understand why, unless they collect votes during the night and load them later, but the pattern of the past few days has been that we pull ahead over night and during the morning, and they pull ahead later in the day.

So keep those votes coming. It isn't over yet!

As stated earlier, interesting how it goes. That +500 vote lead of early this morning is now less than 50 votes

I like that theme though. as long as voting goes until midnight the pattern would be that we take the lead back tonight and keep it.

Keep up the voting. You can vote on any web enabled device.
We are down by about 240 right now.

The pattern is just weird. It's back to less than a 200 vote margin. If the pattern holds, we pull ahead at night :D

Thanks to all for your efforts and your votes. In the end we came up short. The Million Stewards program put on an admirable last effort and passed us by more than 1000 votes. It seems to be a good program and they had the advantage of a national base. All things considered, I think we did dam well given most of our base is of people interested in the Lakes Region.

As I stated in an earlier reply, still hoping that the judges decide to award both programs.
