Hard to believe that 6-10 inches of snow is in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon through part of Thursday and there is not a mention of it here yet. There was a time when the weather threads used to rule!! What a strange non-winter it has been. The downside to any snow will be the insulating factor to the ice pack thus slowing the ice out process....temporarily.
Last day to make your ice-out guess is tomorrow!!

The snow will not last long, and I would have to imagine as it melts the water ending up on the ice will help deteriorate it further. This will be a nuisance storm at most.
Ya, and rain predicted for Saturday so no shoveling needed. Also the WM is never right here in NH. What I see with Channel 9 is they can only fool the school kids when on their school and library visits. :)

Not really much to get excited about.
I think we average on the lower side of the forecast, but it will come down to wind direction and what side of the hill you live on once again. Accumulations will average 6", but some will see more and some will see less.
Looks like a rainy Saturday to me.
Boring winter!

There are a lot of plow truck owners who would disagree. The ground is frozen back up after the cold weekend so plowing should be pretty easy.
As for amounts, totals between both storms or lows are forecast to be 6-10 and maybe a little more. Below is a forecast model from a FB friend in Maine.

It does look to be a bit bigger than it did yesterday. Could be the biggest of the year for some/many folks.
Most of the snow will come from warm air advection and cold air damming, a classic battle between air masses and the models do not handle this that well at all. It will be a long duration storm and the cold air will hang in around the lake, so there is no question of any major mixing. That should make the folks that plow snow very happy. Snow growth looks to be fairly good as a result of lifting so we could see 15:1 ratios in most parts around the lake.
I still think there will be a significant range in accumulations depending on what side of a hill you live on. Windward side will get the most and if your are in the wind shadow of the hill, you will get less.
Enjoy!

driving should be fine friday a.m. snow expected to end around 8pm and friday looks sunny.drive careful
I'm headed there tomorrow myself. Right now here in Alton they are handling most of the snow with sand and salt, however that could change quickly as we are getting fairly heavy fine snow right now. Up on the mountain there is about 8" and that is hard to tell with the wind blowing everywhere right now. Our town road here with little traffic is wet with spots of snow all over it.:)

Looks like about 5-6 inches in my part of Gilford. Ran the snowblower 2 hours ago, and it's still snowing, looks like I'll need to go over it again.
Snow is very fine at this point and pretty much powder as opposed to wet. The folks at Gunstock have to be liking this snow.
Town plowed late this morning, and roads are pretty well covered over since then.
