Anyone know why the Weirs drive-in domain name is for sale? Could it be an oversight that the drive in people just havent renewed it or is it an indicator of bigger things?

Where do you see it listed as for sale?

It expires April 13th, 2013. The domain was last updated on November 22nd last year, and the current web page for it just shows a generic GoDaddy "parked" page.

That same "parked" page also has among all the other stupid GoDaddy adverts a "do you want to buy this domain" link, but that doesn't mean anything.

In any case, the domain has little value. Even if it were truly for sale it likely wouldn't get more than 1 or 2 hundred, at best.

Starting to get a bit nervous here... the weirs drive in is one of our favorite things about the lake and the web site is STILL not up and running. I dont remember it being down in the off season in years past. Usually you get the traditional closed for the season homepage. Not this year.

Anyone know anything about it...really hoping its a just a mistake and they will open as planned.

I did read your later post, but wonder where you got the underlined info. I haven't heard or read anything about it being FOR SALE.:)

I drove by late today, with vehicles both in front and behind me, but did notice an electronic message on their sign.
I'd telephone, before getting all frustrated; maybe a recording on phone....

On the entrance to drive-in, there is pipe storage and other gear not inside the fence of area behind saloon, which we guess is for the roundabout construction. I also think there has been part of the drive-in used for small piles of materials such as fill or sand.

The domain is owned by someone in Scottsdale, AZ so very likely they let is expire and a domain grabber got ahold of it.

I heard a real estate group purchased the drive-in and will be building a multi use retail/office plaza.

Let's wait for planning board meeting agenda and minutes to be publicized.

Be GREAT if it's true, and the group bought the Saloon to enhance their "entrance" off the road!

Then I'd say congrats to Baldi family members!

Sad !!!!! Another landmark vanishes.

NO.... On drive by this afternoon, the large electric sign says opening the 20th, and names movies, AND a telephone number. Movie hotline: a 366-number......

What makes users speculate so much. It appears business as before!

I have no connection to anyone in the ownership; I assume remains Baldi family.

The drive in being torn down would be another example of what is wrong with this area and the direction it is going in.
You take away all that attracts the people and what is left? Nothing except going further north to get away from the crowded place that this area is turning into, slowly but surely.

I've always thought that one of those trolley type buses would help to bring people to and from the Weirs area and other areas on the west side of the lake...Even when I lived in the Holderness area back in the early 80s..pre-Winnipesaukee RR...It could go from specific stops, large hotel, motel, condo areas, campgrounds, communities, etc...a fun ride to and from fun places...between fares, and advertising, and a small fee to stop at your place of business, it might just make a profit...it would also create competition...I always hated competition but have to admit, it made me better at my business when I knew competition was pushing me..

Probably not the perfect plan or idea but maybe it'll get people thinking !

With the weekend traffic jams around the lake it would make for a long trip.
The Meredith area is a real tough area to drive around in from Friday Till Sunday evening.

This morning the Drive-In electronic sign is still displaying a message.
Business seems to be as other summers.

Yes, it might be tough driving through Rts 3/25, in Meredith, BUT you should refrain for saying the entire weekend.
We always used to try to avoid intersection on Saturdays from about 11-1, but some Saturdays 10-2.

When Main Street is closed (arts festival weekend) Route 3 can be especially crowded. Some merchants suggest making your opinion known to Town Manager and Select Board and Police/Fire departments.

I do believe we had one not all that long ago. Not sure of the routes it took but I never saw more than a few people on it at a time and it disappeared after a year or two.

(Giant sigh of relief) Thanks to all that helped allay my fears. i really cant tell you how much we look foward to the drive in.

MAybe we should treat this as a warning of what may come and patronize the drive in (and the other local businesses) more this summer.

I know we go to the drive in no less than 10 times per summer.

Again, thanks to all that responded (my kids thank you as well, lol)

Just like old times you can go in with snacks and a cooler full of your favorite beverage and sit outside and relax and watch the show. :D
I just wish they would clean up the place as it is pretty dumpy both inside and out.
Last couple of times we went there wasn’t many people there which may be a result of how run down it has become, after all a little money invested goes a long way to attracting business.

Thanks for the concern, but the website was down because we switched hosts, which included our site builder. Then I ran through a number of web designers who weren't very good. In the end, I had to learn Wordpress. The new site is up and running at either www.weirsdrivein.com or www.weirsbeach.net. Hope to see you this summer!

I think it's widely known that there exist separate deeds, but there seem to be the same last name. Not trying to start arguments.

We are unable to understand that no communication of some manner does not take place. Certainly the condition of one property has an effect on the clients and potential clients on another.
Oh well, each to their own. I am not a Laconia resident or tax payer, but am in another Lakes Region community.
