I am thinking of purchasing a condo at Samoset. Would anyone know if floats are allowed off their beach? If you have any other comments about the place I will also appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. JLM

Fairly nice place. The front row units have a great view of the broads. Layouts are good, smaller rooms.

Good kid activities from what I remember 10 years ago. Not sure if they still do that. There are a lot of renters during the summer and ski season.

Parking is very tight on summer weekends and when there is a lot of snow on winter weekends. Their boat/dock policy is something you really need to look closely at. No idea about the floats.

With a northerly to northeast wind, the lake will get rough in that location.

All said a great place to start on the lake.

Welcome to the site and good luck with your decision!

Thanks, I am also thinking of the new construction condos on Meredith Bay in Laconia. You need to be a member of the Akwa Boating and Pool Club. I would like to know if they will allow floats off theri beach. Thanks for your thoughts.

Samoset was built by Sugarloaf Mountain Builders who were quality builders. They didn't try to cheapen every last thing like so many did, especially in those busy times. I believe there is another thread about them somewhere from a long time ago.

Not sure about the condos at Samoset. However no property owner including condos can regulate what happens on the water. We had something where the homeowner assocition wanted to restrict "learning to ski" off the beach. They have no authority to regulate that. The water is state owned and anyone as long as it is legal to do so. Anyone can use the lake to the high water mark at any location. That being said, you will need access through privite property with your float to get to the water.
Good luck in your search.

Sure can use floats. Many people keep them in their cabanas so they don't have carry them from their house. You can always contact the sales center, and they can help you.

Hope I helped

I assume by floats you mean the generic pool type floats. I believe they are allowed but you should confirm that with the association if that's important to you. Generally speaking, all the float type devices commonly used by kids are used all the time (e.g. noodles, tubes, arm floaties, knee boards, etc.)

I may be biased but I think Samoset is great. The real estate provides amazing views and lake access while the Samoset community includes a lot of great people.

Despite my username, I am not affiliated with the association or Board of Trustees. I'm just an owner.
